Explore the blue-painted city of Chefchaouen, then the cultural capital of Fes where you will have a guided tour. You will cross the lush Middle-Atlas Mountains, have a camel ride experience the desert including overnighting the desert under the stars before taking the road west to Marrakech through the Dades Valley, Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) and Ait Benhaddou.

Detailed Itinerary
Pick up from Tangier and head to the blue-painted city of Chefchaouen through the spectacular Rif Mountains that offers breathtaking views. Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you may want to spend your time meandering around this charming city that has acquired an excellent reputation worldwide to the extent it has been listed as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The Medina (Old Town) is tiny and you can explore it yourself without the need of a tour guide’s service and the travel tip is to get lost within its beautifully painted streets, doors and windows.
In the evening, you may want to include a drink in the famous Utta Hamma Square, which is in the heart of the Medina while watching the passers-by as a way to sample the unique local lifestyle.
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you will spend the first half-day exploring what Chefchaouen has to offer beginning from the Kasbah (fortress) which is located in the very heart of the Medina and goes back to the 15th century. Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid built the Kasbah to fight against the Portuguese and the Spanish Invaders, meander around the streets of the Medina that are shrouded in mystery before reaching the Ras el-Ma where you can breathtaking views.
After lunch, you will drive to Fes through the Rif Mountains, which we will reach in the late afternoon.
Today, you will explore the best of Fes in the first half-day with a local tour guide who knows Fes intimately. Fes is the oldest Moroccan imperial city among Marrakech, Meknes & Rabat. It was founded in the 7th century by the Moulay Idriss I who is a direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammed. It is the cultural and the spiritual capital of Morocco and the Fes el-Bali (Oldest Fes) is the largest urban car-free district in the world.
Discover the rich Moroccan culture within the countless alleyways of the Fes el-Bali with its bustling cafes, vibrant Souks and unique lifestyle. Visit Museums, Funduks and pass-by mosques and Koranic Schools including the Qarawiyyin Mosque, which is the oldest university in the world. You will also visit the famous Chouara Tanneries where you can learn about how the process of making leather using traditional ingredients and methods.
After lunch, you will drive to Midelt while including a stop in Ifrane, which was selected as the second cleanest city in the world in the 15th century. Have another short break in the UNESCO preserved cedar forest of the lush Middle-Atlas that hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques before arriving to our destination in the late afternoon.
After having breakfast, you will head to the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi while crossing the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains offering panoramic views. Enjoy the views in the palm-valley of Ziz, then get to the desert where you will ride your camels in the soft sand while enjoying the view of the sunset. Have dinner in the desert camp or under the stars, then stretch your legs in the soft sand to watch the stars that illuminate the sky.
Have some entertainment with the staff members before culminating the day with a nice sleep in your private tent.
Today, you will wake up early in the morning so that you can attend the majestic view of the sunrise atop the sand dune. After having breakfast and taking a refreshing shower, you will resume your journey to the lush Dades Valley while including a visit to the dates’ market in Erfoud where you can learn about the different varieties of dates that are grown in the region.
You will later stretch your legs in the impressive Todra Gorge (Canyon) with its high cliffs that keep attracting visitors from all over the world including mountain climbers. The local inhabitants escape to the Gorge to avoid the hot weather during the summer. Continue on the track further west to the Dades Valley where we will spend our fifth night.
After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in the Dades Valley, you will drive further west to Marrakech through the Valley of Roses where you can include a short break to form an idea about the different produce including perfumes, rose-water, cosmetics, soaps and much more. Drive through Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) with the possibility to include a visit to the famous Atlas Film Studios.
Our next stop will be in the dramatic Ait Benhaddou Village, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site consisting of many Kasbahs (fortresses) that have been used as a backdrop for shooting many Hollywoof Movies such Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia and many others. After lunch, you will drive over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) before arriving in Marrakech in the evening.
Today, you will spend the day exploring the best of Marrakech with a local tour guide. You will drive through the Ville Nouvelle that was built by the French when Moroccan was a French Protectorate from 1912 to 1956. Visit the Majorelle Gardens, which is owned by Yves Saint Laurent offering an excellent opportunity to meander around this small paradise.
Drive back to the Medina where you can learn about the history behind the foundation of Marrakech from the Koutoubia Mosque that goes back to the 12th century. Visit the 15th Saadian Tombs where you can learn about this dynasty that ruled Morocco in the 15th and 16th centuries. Continue your walk through the intricate alleys to the Bahia Palace which was built by the Vizier of the Sultan Moulay Abdelaziz in the 19th century.
You will, then, explore the vibrant Souks of Marrakech that are organized into sections based on specialty before ending our guided tour in the Jemaa el-Fna Square, which is the focal point of Marrakech, and end our tour 7 Days desert Tour from Tangier
