Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Valley

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad in Marrakech, you will embark on the 3 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fez with a professional driver/guide who knows Morocco like the back of hand. Drive through the spectacular Atlas Mountains that offer picturesque views with its snow-capped in the winter. We will have many breaks for taking pictures, chilling out and visiting interesting places.

After crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), you will explore the dramatic Ait Benhaddou Village. It is in here many Hollywood Movies were filmed like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia and many others. It served as an important commercial center for the caravans that used to traverse the Sahara from Marrakech.

After lunch, you may want to include a visit to the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa). Have another stop in the Valley of Roses where you can learn about the products like perfumes, cosmetics, rose-water and soaps are being made. Spend the night in the lush valley of Dades.

Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you will head further southeast to Merzouga desert. Include a break in the impressive Todra Gorge (canyon) where you will stretch your legs while enjoying the stunning views. After lunch, you will continue on the track driving through Erfoud where we may include a visit to the dates’ market so that you can form an idea about the different varieties of dates that are known in the region.

Upon arrival in the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will have a camel ride experience while enjoying the breathtaking views of the sunset. Later, you will have a delicious meal for dinner in our tented restaurant or under the stars. Stretch your legs in the sand watching the stars that illuminate the horizons. Spend the night in your private ensuite tent.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert - Midelt - Ifran - Fez

Today, you will wake up in the early morning to attend the majestic view of the sunrise over the sand dunes. Have breakfast before heading Fez through the palm valley of Ziz where you can take pictures as it offers panoramic views. Have lunch near the city of Midelt, which is known for growing apples. You will, then, cross the lush Middle Atlas Mountains with its UNESCO cedar forest that hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques that you can easily spot and even feed. Stretch your legs in Ifran before arriving in Fez in the evening, and end our 3 Days Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour .
