Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Ziz Valley - Erfoud - Merzouga Desert

Pick up at 07:30 am from your accommodation in Fes by your private driver/guide, head south and have a stop to chill out in the beautiful city of Ifrane. This charming city was selected as the second cleanest city in the world in 2015 and is often called the Moroccan Switzerland Version City due to its unique architecture. You will include another stop in the UNESCO listed cedar forest that hosts a colony of Barbary Macaques, which you might approach or even feed.

After having lunch in Midelt, you will cross the High-Atlas Mountains with its snaky road offering picturesque views. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Ziz Valley with its countless palm trees. You will then go for the camel ride experience in the sand dune while enjoying the stunning view of the sunset. Atop the sand dune you may want to experience the sandboarding before reaching the desert camp.

After having a delicious dinner in our tented restaurant or under the stars. Stretch your legs in the soft sand and watch the stars that illuminate the sky or have time for entertainment before culminating the day with a nice sleep in your private tent.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert - Erfoud - Midelt

Early wake up in the morning, climb up the sand dune and enjoy the panoramic view of the sunrise. After having breakfast under the sunlight or inside our restaurant, take a refreshing shower and get ready for our today’s adventure. We will have a tour around the desert area with a nice drive by the edge of the sand dunes where you can learn about the sophisticated system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”.

You will drive through Merzouga Village to Khamlia where we can have some time for entertainment with the Gnawa Musicians. This village is inhabited by people with dark complexion that were brought as slaves from the Saharan Lands. The spiritual music they perform to guest-visitors is inspirational. Include a visit to the fossil’s factory in Erfoud where you can learn about the excavation of fossils and minerals in the region and how the process takes place.

Later, you will continue on the track taking the same route while including many breaks in the Ziz Valley, the Ziz Gorge before arriving to Midelt where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Midelt - Middle Atlas - Ifrane - Fes

After having breakfast in your hotel/Riad, you will drive back to the cultural capital of Fes, which we will reach in the late afternoon. and end our Tour 3 Days Fes to Merzouga Sahara Desert Tour
